The Best Of PA

You are probably wondering "where have all the Micro dates gone??"  I know your probably itching for some ideas.  Well the truth is, for the past two weeks I haven't done a single Micro date.  Why?  Because for the past two weeks Danny and I have gone on two real live dates-aka-out of the home with babysitters lined up.  It was wonderful, I have to admit.  It was time for a change of pace-if I had to do a Micro date every week, well I'd be fried and served on a platter-or something like that.  Micro dates are fun, but there is a great need to get out of the house-before 9pm-and enjoy some fresh air.  So this is what we did: Date 1 Checked out the Arts Quest Center at Bethlehem Steel Stacks: Date 2 Went to Thai Thai-a Thai restauant-duh.  Yummy food!  Also bought some new running sneakers and bought some ice cream. Disclaimer:  I am no expert on such a subject.  I'm continually striving to trust in the Lord and my spouse.  Also there are serious subjects I mention that I do not have personal experience in.  I have only observed and discussed these topics with people who were successful in rebuilding trust and failed in doing so resulting in divorce. So I thought it would be fun to throw a fifties party-no wait, I mean date, well same thing practically!  Right?!?  And since I was staying within a theme I had to make dinner too!  Wanna have yourself a 50's date?  Here's how. 1) Make a "Diner" Dinner: We had bacon cheeseburgers with regular and sweet potato fries, aspargus-yes I know not very diner-ish, and mystery soup. A milkshake bouquet, yummy Table Set with a Little Invitation for Danny I have a link for free print ups I used. Danny is enjoying his delish greasy meal One Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and aspargus, coming right up!  Also put in some sweet potato fries cuz I love them.   2) Once the kiddies are off to bed, begin the date with a lil game.  We played clothespin in the bottle-okay mason jar, which is very tricky might I add.  2) 50's has a bunch of great sweets, like candy buttons.  So we wrote love messages-not so origional love messag...

Table for two please! The real deal, yummy!! Hey There!  Well, we missed a Micro date last week, but  we made up for it with TWO dates this week- both involving food.  With all this crazy planning and preparing for eclectic dates I was feeling a bit burnt out-so we did something easy this week.  Simply put, we held off on supper till after the kids went to sleep and Danny arrived from school.  Yes I whipped up a delectable and healthy meal for two.  A concoction I created (Cut up chicken, garlic, a table spoon of dry salsa mix,  cannelini beans, diced tomatoes, asparagus, chopped peppers and mushrooms)  I don't mean to brag or anything but it was delicious!!  The perfect relaxing setting to chat away and catch up.  It just goes to show that you don't need extravagant themes and games to make a date special.  Simple can be refreshing and enjoyable too.  I could literally eat this eveyday-wonderfully de...

Spring is here and it is beautiful! The votes are in: A trip to Paris is in order!  Without haste, I got to work whippping up a french meal for our family.  One that consists of white fish soup, (a bisque of blended thyme, potatoes, onions white fish-I used talapia- and more!) a scaled down version of Coq Au Vin (chicken, tomatoes, thyme, onions, carrots, wine etc,) , french style green beans, a baugette and french cheese.  Coq A Vin has bacon and carrots in it, which I did not use, due to forgetting to pick these items up at the store :-/    I substitued the wine with sparkling grage juice our french cheese: made in America We don't drink wine, so we went with the next best thing Bon Apetit!
