A Journey to Homesteading...we hope.

There are a couple life's goals and dreams Danny has.  I think he wished we had a farm.  But alas we do not-so we make do and are attempting to create a homestead.  Oh dear, have we a long way to go, and with only a quarter of an acre, we can only do so much.  This is what we already have:

-Rasberrries
-Peach Tree
-Pear Tree
-Apple Tree
-Raised Bed/Organic Garden

Still a work in progress, but two out of the three beds are planted

This is what Danny wants to still get:

-Blueberry bushes

Our neighbors next door own a little over three acres, and have an orchard, as well as a huge garden and tons of rasberries.  They are practically family and are dear friends.  And together on our nieghbors property they atre experimenting with this:




That would be honey bees...mmmm, hope this pans out well and we get lots of honey ;-)

Look at you all country girl;) That's what I miss about PA...LAND! I grow wheat grass in a pan on top of my fridge...sad huh? My girls use the windowsill in the family room for their "garden"...so jealous of those raised beds! My dream is to have a 5 acre farm with a pig, chickens, a cow, horse and ORCHARD! Nothing tastes better than a fresh picked ripe summer peach...dare I say better than chocolate;)

There is nothing better than fresh, home grown fruit. Oh yes...truthfully...it's all Danny..shh don't tell anyone. I mean, I appreciate it, but im not doing all the hard work. Sure I help a bit, but yeah,about 5% or less. He's quite the guy. I hope you get to your dream soon!! Don't give up on those dreams!!

Meal Time Sentences

Our lovely flash cards that we DO use!!                        I am not a very good teacher.   I should be going over letters and numbers every single day with Ellyanna, but I’m not.   I should be teaching her how to trace and write them out, but of course I’m not.   I save it all for preschool, which is only two days a week.   I’m far from perfect.   But I am taking little steps.   I do something small every day, something I like to call meal time sentences.               What are meal time sentences?   Let me back track here.   A couple of years ago we bought “Your Baby Can Read” because I just had to have it and insisted that our daughters would be becomes real life geniuses in result.   Of course being the mom that I am, I was gung ho for the first couple of weeks and then easily stopped.   “Your Baby Can Read” comes with videos, which we placed in the car DVD.   Ellyanna grew sick of it quickly.   A lot of whining sounded once the theme song to these DVD started.    But B

Pregnancy Fears

I'm scared. I'm scared because I am five weeks pregnant and I have no symptoms that I usually have. I am not sick, smells are not revolting to me and I feel normal, just fine. Which makes me wonder, am I pregnant? Is there a live baby in there...or did I lose it already?? And I want another baby so bad, that this overwhelming fear weighs on me, and makes my heart heavy. Every time I see a newborn, those precious just from heaven babies, I melt. And the thought stirs me, I'm ready, ready for another baby. And I know I'm only five weeks along, but I I recall those horrible symptoms being nearly instantaneous. As crazy as it sounds, those symptoms also brought comfort.
