Fourth
Of July at Fonthill
It
was a hot and sticky fourth of July, but we had plans to venture outside
anyways. We planned and prepared,
creating and decorating stars for the bike parade. We tied ribbons and packed up goodies. It was the first time Ellyanna rode a bike
(with training wheels.) We were at Fonthill Museum in Doyelstown Pennsylvania. And even in the thick humidity it was fun
learning about the past. Old bicycles,
musical instruments, games of the past, a singing quartet, live music, yummy
foods, face painting, crafts, a bike parade, tours in the mansion and
food. What a good time we had learning
and watching and EATING.
I
love the fourth of July. It is such a
wonderful, hot and sunny holiday….but really most importantly it is a celebration
of a country in which we are free. What
a beautiful blessed life we live in the US of A. I want my girls to LOVE this holiday and to
understand the importance of it. I want
them to experience a bit of history, which is why we checked out the Fontill
Festivities. It is also why we had a
Colonial Dinner the Eve of the Fourth-which I shall share with you tomorrow,
with pics.
Happy
Fourth of July!!
